Southern Funeral Home has been serving Henderson area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

Southern Funeral Home was founded by Alonza Moss in 1952 and was located at 600 Brown Street in Henderson, TX until Mrs. Freddie Mae Brown Washington & Mr. Booker T. Washington purchased the business in 1973 and built the new location at 604 Wilson Street in Henderson, Texas. Mrs. Freddie M. Washington passed away April 14, 2013 and the business continued to be operated by her daughter, Mrs. Virginia S. Rainer. The legacy shall live on through the new leadership for continued success in the community of Rusk County, Panola County, Gregg County, Harrison County, and most of all surrounding areas of which we plan to keep our motto with value we are: 

"Large Enough To Serve You, Small Enough To Know You!"
